Harnessing the spirit of working sled dogs in the northern Sierra at Lake Tahoe

Founded in the 1980s, Snowlion Alaskan Malamutes™ is a top show & sledding kennel in the Sierra--north Lake Tahoe dedicated to preserving the working heritage and classic traits of this arctic breed. Our Malamutes are bred to the AKC standard for correct size & breed characteristics—including temperament, performance & appearance. We are well-known for producing beautiful Malamutes with outstanding dispositions from carefully chosen, health-tested working lines.

While our dogs have competed successfully world-wide, winning numerous Best in Show awards & championships, our priority is ensuring that each of our Alaskan Malamutes enjoys a healthy, happy life as a cherished companion. Producing versatile, friendly Malamutes capable of fulfilling multiple roles as family pets, show and working—is our proudest achievement.
